CBN CASHLESS policy now in Ogun State
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has listed distrust in banking system, resistance due to prevailing cash culture, infrastructure lag, and lack of clarity in communicating content policy as some of the challenges militating against the cashless policy drive of the federal government.
CBN Deputy Governor Operations, Mr Tunde Lemo made this known in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital at the advocacy visit to the state deputy governor, Prince Segun Adesegun on the takeoff of the policy in the state
While seeking the support of all Nigerians on the success of the policy, Mr. Lemo said necessary legislation such as the Payment System Management Bill and Financial System Ombudsman Bill are currently before the national assembly for consideration
Expressing the support of the state government ,the state deputy governor said the system has drastically geared up the state internally generated revenue (IGR)
